VHS Toss: Youth Group Games

Quick Overview:

Two teams will face off as each member of their team must touch the VHS tape as it is passed from the back of the room to the front. It gets super intense and fun!

Supplies You’ll Need:

1. Lots and Lots of VHS’s.  Seriously, I mean a lot. Go to the thrift store and see if they will sell you some at a bulk price or just go to any garage sale as people are always looking to get rid of them!

2. A large VHS player. Just something with a slot will work great. We built ours out of wood and had a sign printed to go over the front of it as we used it each week at camp. You can easily buy a sheet of ply-wood and cut it to look like a VHS player and paint it!

Prep:

Place all the VHS tapes in the back of the room

Hang the VHS player up or prop it up against a wall. As long as the VHS tapes can enter through the player your all set!

Game Play:

In the front there will be one student waiting to “load” the VHS into the player. They must stand behind a designated line and throw the VHS tapes into the slot.

The team with the most VHS’s through the slot at the end of 60 seconds is the winner

At your go the student must move all the VHS tapes from the back of the room to the front. Each player must touch each VHS in order for it to be “loaded” into the player.

Whichever team has loaded the most VHS tapes into the player at the end of the game is the winner.
