Carpet Skiing: Youth Group Games

Quick Overview:

It doesn’t matter if you’re used to skiing down the slopes or skiing on the lake carpet skiing is a new adventure your students will love. Create a track around your youth room and see who has the agility and ability to conquer the course.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  1. Pool noodles (4 total). This will be the power for the carpet skier.
  2. Carpet Skates (2 total). You can find them HERE on Amazon.
  3. Cones. These will be used to create the path the skier must take.

Prep:

Set up a course for your skiers. We set up an identical course going around each side of the room, but converged for the last leg of the race. This lead to some pretty exciting finishes!

Game Play:

You will need two teams. Each team consisting of 3 people. There is one skier who attaches the carpet skates on their feet. The other two will pull the skier through the course using pool noodles.

When a team is ready, the skier will grab onto each noodle held by the two pullers, and on your count the two teams will race through the course. The idea is not for the students with carpet skates to just run in them but instead to keep their feet sliding on the floor the whole time. Whoever crosses the finish line first is the winner!

It seems super simple… and it is, but your students will think this game is awesome, trust me!
