Apple Stack: Youth Group Games

Quick Overview:

We played this game with 2 teams of 2 players each, going to head to head to create the highest stack of apples. Each team gets a whole box of toothpicks to help them build some outrageous creations.

Supplies You’ll Need:

1. Apples, lots and lots of Apples. We did this game in the fall when apples are more abundant and also cheaper. Its better to have more apples for students to be creative with how large and wide they can make their stacks. We had about 2 dozen for each team. (4 dozen total for both teams)

2. Toothpicks. One box per team.

Prep:

Set up two tables. Each team will stand behind the table facing the crowd. Place a large bowl containing all the apples on the table making it easy for contestants to access the apples. Place the box of tooth picks in front of the bowl open and ready for sticking some apples.

Game Play:

The game starts with 1 minute on the clock, and teammates can be as creative as possible with building their stack. They have unlimited amounts of toothpicks and can only use the apples in front of them. After 1 minute players must step away from the table ensuring their stack will stand without the help of their human hands. The tallest stack of apples is the winner!
