Quick Overview:

Are you ever looking for a game during some of the Patriot Holidays(July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day)? Well look no further! This is the game for you. Allow your students to test their multitasking skills as they race others head to head to see who has what it takes to be crowed the Great American Turbine.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  1. Pinwheels (1 per contestant). Around most of these patriot holidays you can find them at the dollar store in America colors
  2. Straws (1 per contestant). Use whatever you can find. Make sure it can create suction on a M&M.
  3. M&M’s. Get the Red White and Blue ones folks! This is a patriot party after all.
  4. Patriot Containers (2 per contestant). Again the Dollar Store makes this possible. Go all out!

Prep:

Tape each Pinwheel to the front of your table.

Separate the M&M’s into half of your patriot containers.

Each contestant should have one pinwheel in front of him or her, two patriot containers (one with M&M’s and one without) and a straw.

Game Play:

Collect your constants. We had 4 people face off against each other, but 2 works just as well.

Each contestant will have 60 seconds to transfer as many M&M’s from the full container to the empty one as fast as possible BUT there is a catch. You are only allowed to move an M&M while the pinwheel is spinning. The contestants will have to blow the pinwheel hard enough to move a M&M to the empty container.

After 60 seconds count up how many M&M’s each contestant collected to determine the winner!
